About.
Established Sydney, Australia in January 2018.
The STEMMinist Book Club was founded by Professor Caroline Ford as a space to connect with other like-minded women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine keen to discuss books and feminism.
It rapidly grew a large and engaged following on twitter, with in person meet ups around the world. The pandemic saw a major shift online through virtual book clubs. This website is its new HQ.
Non-Fiction.
We have read 40 non-fiction books including memoirs, biographies, and texts covering feminism, leadership, medical misogyny, innovation, health, engineering, technology, environmental science, marine biology, mycology, start-ups, coding, bias, history.
Our first book selection was the ground breaking Inferior by Angela Saini.
Fiction.
We have read five fiction books from contemporary literature including Tidelines, Only The Astronauts, and Ordinary Matter to blockbusters like Lessons in Chemistry and The Testaments.
